Greek Dracut Restaurants: A Spin on Thanksgiving

Greek Dracut Restaurants: A Spin on Thanksgiving
GREEK THANKSGIVING IS…

Thanksgiving is around the corner, and traditional meals are well underway. From generational recipes to signature drinks, every family has their traditions. Here at Primo Pizza, we’re no exception! As one of the top Greek Dracut restaurants, we thought it would be fun to take this moment to bring our customers inside of our world.

First, let us begin by saying, we get it. The expected is sometimes boring – turkey, stuffing, vegetables, and bread. Sure, we all look forward to dinner and the sandwiches that follow, but sometimes it’s good to mix things up a bit. And, what better way to wow your guests than with a Greek twist on Thanksgiving this year!

Dips

A staple to any appetizer spread is a dip. It doesn’t matter what the dip is, hot or cold – people just need to dip. This year, consider replacing your traditional veggie dip with homemade tzatziki. In fact, tzatziki goes well with just about any side! From fresh veggies to toasted baguettes, the creamy combination of yogurt, cucumber, and garlic is just enough flair to bring excitement to the table!

Cheeses

Another staple in the appetizer spread is cheese. From antipasto platters to cheese and cracker spreads, there’s always cheese. However, when it comes to traditional Greek spreads, one must remember the feta. Whether you slice it and serve it fresh, bake it with sundried tomatoes, or get fancy with tirokafferi, feta is a must-have.

Vegetables

Every Thanksgiving spread needs an array of vegetables. From green beans to carrots and potatoes to squash, changing the menu is as easy as switching your spices. Instead of buttery white potatoes, consider making sweet potatoes with honey. However, if you’re looking for a truly authentic experience, boiled greens (horta) are a staple at most Greek tables.

Desserts

Now, if you’re looking for an authentic dessert to bring to the table, kourabiethes are your answer. This shortbread cookie is rolled with almonds and covered in a heavy coating of confectioner’s sugar. If you’ve never had the wonderful experience of trying this cookie, this year is definitely the year to do so. Check out your local Greek bakeries or visit this recipe from the spruce eats.

Don’t worry, we still eat pumpkin pie too!
